Our Murals

Loteria del Barrio

Loteria del Barrio was developed in partnership with Washington Elementary Students and Dr. Luis-Genaro Garcia, professor of Art Education at CSU, Sacramento.
The Mural highlights the Funds of Knowledge of students which they share via Loteria cards that highlight their parental occupations. Professor Garcia shares his Creative Resistance approach to educators via his creative resistance methodology as a way for students to acknowledge their parental occupations to meet subject specific learning objectives.
A vibrant and colorful mural adorns the wall, featuring an array of geometric shapes and patterns in various hues, while a person in the foreground stands in front of the artwork.
