Our Murals

Loteria del Barrio is a Mural developed in partnership with Washington Elementary Students and Luis-Genaro Garcia, professor of Art Education at Sacramento State.

The Mural highlights the Funds of Knowledge of students which they share via Loteria cards that highlight their parental occupations. Professor Garcia shares his Creative Resistance approach to educators via his creative resistance methodology as a way for students to acknowledge their parental occupations to meet subject specific learning objectives.
