2019-2020 STEAM Academy
Before and Afterschool Care

The STEAM Academy is a before and after school program that serves Washington Elementary School families. During our program, Team Leaders (before and after school instructors) develop strong and enriching lessons based upon our agency’s initiatives; STEAM, Social and Emotional Learning, Social Skills, Healthy Choices and Behaviors, and Literacy. Lessons are presented to students through project based learning. It is our mission to provide a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment that fosters independent thinking skills as well as collaborative learning.

Students must be registered with The STEAM Academy in order to attend program. Students not registered will not be able to attend.

Currently, all of the classes in The STEAM Academy are full. If you wish to sign up for the wait list, please contact the Program Manager for more information. The Program Manager is Maren Chewning and may be reached at 916-585-6599.

We will be open daily, starting the first day of school, at 7:00am. Our morning program runs from 7:00am-9:00am. Parents/Guardians will need to sign in the student each drop off in the morning. Students are walked to the cafeteria at 8:30am to join the rest of Washington Elementary for school breakfast. Breakfast fees are not covered in The STEAM Academy’s tuition.

Program opens in after school once students are released from their regular school-day classes (12:45pm for Early Kindergarten, 1:30pm for Kindergarten, 3:00pm for all other grades). Students are picked up at their classrooms by the STEAM Team Leaders. Program ends at 6:00pm.

Registration information for the 2020-2021 school year, as well as Summer 2020, will be available in Spring of 2020.
