Early Kinder/Transitional Kinder- Half Day Program

EK (also called Transitional Kindergarten or TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten experience for children. To be eligible to register for Transitional Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year, children must turn four years old on or before September 1, 2025.

TK school day- 9:00AM-12:45PM 

Applications will open 1/13/25-2/21/25. Lottery placement notifications will be sent to families 3/10/25. 

5/19/25- Families who did not enroll through TK lottery can register their student for TK online. 

Kindergarten

Kindergarten registration will begin 1/13/2025. All registration forms for 2025-26 must be submitted online through Infinite Campus OLR

To be eligible to register for kindergarten for Fall 2025, children must be five years old on or before September 1, 2025. 

Students who are enrolled in our EK program in 2025-26 will be automatically enrolled for Kinder at their school of residence. 

Families who reside outside the Washington boundaries and wish to stay at Washington can apply for Kinder through Open Enrollment or through an Intra-District permit to remain at Washington for Kinder-6th. 

Students who attend transitional kindergarten at Washington will be given priority in the Open Enrollment lottery for kindergarten. 

Kinder School Day 9:00AM-1:30PM 

Open Enrollment-  2025-2026 Open Enrollment will be February 3, 2025 at 8:00AM – February 21, 2025 at 5:00PM. 

INTRA/INTER Dates to submit a 2025-2026 Intra-District Permit Transfer Requests are forthcoming but are usually April – May.  Notification of placement is usually sent to families in late May.
